East Village CLOSED — Which Way to Go on a Saturday Night

Billy lived and painted in the East Village for over 30 years. He started out as a street artist and then got his big break painting 60 feet of ceiling mirrors for the Broadway hit musical RENT. Since then he worked for some of the largest global brands, public art projects, and events around the world.

His last big project was called “East Village Closed”. Billy shot photographs of what the neighborhood looked like during the 2020 pandemic along with the people who live here. He then drew on the photograph to tell the story of what he had personally experienced as an artist.
